Today I had my 6 month consultation with my haematologist – almost 2 years after I finished treatment for my Hairy Cell Leukaemia relapse. The news is all good, as normal as can be – next check-up in 6 months.
So, in addition to a consultation in September, I will be running The Big Half in London, raising funds for Blood Cancer UK. This is my second time doing this particular half-marathon, having previously completed it in (checking Strava…) in 2021 in 1:48:32 – so in addition to my fundraising target, I have a time target!
The Big Half route starts at Tower Bridge and passes through four boroughs of London Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich.
My fundraising page is on JustGiving – if you can spare the price of a coffee or a pint, I would be very grateful. This is the latest in my fundraising events for Blood Cancer UK, having previously participated in the Ride London 100 Mile cycle on a number of occasions, undertook a virtual Lands end to John O’Groats during lockdown and several other smaller events, running, yoga and of course a tea party!
Blood Cancer UK are a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. They do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, they’ve invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, the community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough.
Thank You!
