It turns out the Regent Brass are on a roll.  2 contests in 2013, 2 first places… can we make it 3 in a row tomorrow at the Masters?

This is my fifth time at the masters, having previously competed with Aveley & Newham (Chivalry 10th Place in 2003, Harrisons Dream 7th Place in 2004, Cloudcatcher Fells 11th Place in 2005,  Paganini Variations 19th Place 2006), this is my second time playing Championship level work by Eric Ball, A Kensington Concerto.

Previously, I’ve played Eric Ball Festival Music (11th Place, L&SC Ch Section) at areas with Welwyn Garden City and at other contests in lower sections with Manx Concert Brass, Four Preludes (Pontins 1997, 3rd Place, 3rd Section), Main Street (NW Areas 1999, 3rd Section 1st Place), Sunset Rhapsody (Pontins 2002, 12th Place, 2nd Section).

You can’t control the result in a contest, only your performance.  The aim is to deliver a performance as close to plan as possible! Hopefully, reduce “minor errors” that somehow creep into our performance between the rehearsal room and contest stage! 🙂

Looking forward to catching up with some friends from other bands around the country too!
