After being dragged out of bed on Christmas morning to do the Christmas Day Park Run, today was my first official run of 2015.

It was quite icy out and we had to go cross country for some short sections but there was a great turn out, 114 participants in all.  This was my 4th official park run and today, I set a new PB of 00:23:36 which I am quite pleased with.

What is less pleasing is the accuracy of my GPS tracker.  Image below shows both Mrs Q’s results and mine (Helen didn’t beat here PB today…. just saying)

Official results can be seen on the Park Run website here.

Park runs are organised by volunteers and are held in many parks across the UK.  You register on-line and are issued with a bar-code that you must present when you finish your run.  You can participate in any Park Run and have your time recorded against your account, tracking your progress.

Every week, there are new runners, so if you are looking to take up jogging as a means to shed a few kg and get fit, check out their site.  Well worth it, runners of all ages and levels, and you will receive great encouragement from the volunteers.
