Spent a few days in on holiday in Lisbon, Portugal on early September 2014. Booked through Expedia, we flew RyanAir and stayed in the marvellous Palacio Dos Arcos hotel, part of the Vila Gale group. A 5 star hotel, Mrs Q just said wow! lots as we walked through from reception to our room!

The hotel is located on the coast a 20 minute train ride from Lisbon Cais de Sorde train station, which is also a Metro stop. We couldn’t believe how cheap it was to travel the metro in Lisbon, especially compared to London Tube and Bus prices.
A proper R&R holiday, we did the usual sightseeing and lazing around the pool of the hotel. Lisbon is a city steeped in culture and is well worth exploring on foot (as we did) or by taking the historic trams.

We visited the Castelo De S.Jorge late afternoon of one of our sightseeing days and after ambling around the castle for a couple of hours, chilling out with a glass of wine enjoying the sun setting over Lisbon was a highlight of the trip. Pop up wine bars are genius, Wine with a View in Lisbon castle grounds… fantastic..
