I lived on the Isle of Man for over 7 years and one of the highlights of the musical calendar with Manx Concert Brass was the Manx Last Night of the Proms. Mrs Q was this years featured soloist (read all about it here..) so we travelled over and spent a few days with the folks! My father in law has become somewhat of a keen cyclist, and was signed up to participate in the CC Isle of Man Cycle Challenge, 1 lap of the world famous Isle of Man TT Course.
Why don’t you come along, he said, sure I will I said….
Just crossed the finish line..
61.04km and 2hrs 32 minutes and 15 seconds later I arrived back at the TT Grandstand.
I will come clean and admit that the bike I used did have a small motor, gave me some boost uphill, otherwise it would have been quite a slog, not having cycled anywhere seriously since London to Brighton over a year ago!
